Autism Parents Protest Premier’s Visit to Milton

Premier Kathleen Wynne visited Milton’s Sixteen Mile Arts Gallery  today to talk about her budget.  Members of the were Alliance Against the Ontario Autism Program there protesting over the decision to cut off the age for Intensive Behavioral therapy (IBT) at age five years old.  On her way she stopped to talk to with them regarding difficulties with the new program’s roll-out.

 

The Ontario budget promised an additional $333 million in funding for Autism treatments.  They have restricted IBI treatment to children under the age of five offering payments of $8,000 to parents on the wait list.
