Pet Valu Milton Stores Launch Pet Food Drive

Pets have played an outsized role helping their pet parents manage the stress, anxiety and loneliness of the COVID-19 pandemic but some Milton pet parents are struggling to feed their furry companions because of the economic toll of the lockdown. To help these pet parents, Pet Valu Milton is collecting pet food and raising funds to help local pets in need.

“We care deeply about the Milton community and want to help during these difficult times,” says Robert Keating, franchisee Pet Valu Milton. “We already have a sizeable amount of donated pet food and our goal is collect much more over the next few weeks.”

For the month of June, Pet Valu is running Giving Back Month. Each time a customer purchases select cat and dog food, treats and flea and tick protection $1 from the purchase of each qualifying product will be donated to the Upper Credit Humane Society and ANML-RESQ Network of Ontario. Customers are also invited to donate a can or bag of pet food when they check out. Pet food collected in-store will be donated to the Salvation Army Food Bank in Milton to help their clients who have pets.

“We’re very excited about the support we are already getting from our customers,” says Keating. “They’re very committed to helping pet parents and we’re so pleased to do our part to help pets who have been doing so much during this difficult time.”
