Halton Regional Police Service to Focus on “4 E’s”
Under a new emergency order the police would have the power to stop residents, and ask them why they are away from their residences.
Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) will continue to focus on what they call the 4 e’s. “We remain committed to the four Es of enforcement: Engage-Explain-Educate-Enforce. We will not be conducting random vehicle or individual stops,” They tweeted from their corporate account.
HRPS Chief Steve Tanner tweeted a similar message. “The HRPS will not be randomly stopping vehicles for no reason during the pandemic, or afterwards (RIDE being an exception). We will work with with our citizens to maximize safety. Enforcement only when necessary.”
To our amazing Halton citizens. We are all going through a horrific year of COVID-19 and all associated with it together. The HRPS will NOT be randomly stopping vehicles for no reason during the pandemic or afterwards (RIDE being an exception). @GaryCarrHalton @CouncillorKnoll
