Mayor Krantz, Members of Council and the Milton Library Board put on their rain boots and came together to celebrate the ground-breaking of the new Sherwood Community Centre.
“Every ground-breaking marks an important milestone for our community,” said Milton Mayor Gord Krantz. “We’re excited to add another multi-purpose facility where residents will come together for learning, recreation and fun.”
The Sherwood Community Centre will feature a flexible, multi-use design to accommodate an assortment of activities for people of all ages and abilities. It will include a twin pad arena, aquatic complex (25-metre pool and leisure/therapeutic pool), active living studio, multi-purpose spaces and a branch library.
The future facility will be located on the north side of Main Street West, east of Tremaine Road (next to Sherwood District Park). Construction of the project is being undertaken by Aquicon Contractors. The facility is expected to open to the public in the Spring of 2019.
