Winter is taking one last shot at Halton Region starting today, and running through tomorrow. Environment Canada has placed Milton under a special weather statement because of a winter storm. A band of lake effect snow could bring 10-20 centimetres accumulation and is expected to last until Tuesday night.
Winds gusting as high as 50km/hr from the northeast will develop this evening, and shift to northern direction. This could result in localized blowing snow.
Halton Regional Police Service recommend residents avoid all unnecessary travel. The Town of Milton has suspended all parking exceptions to allow plows to do their job. For information on plowing schedules, click here

They have also cancelled all community activities scheduled at the schools. All Sheridan college campuses have been closed, and classes cancelled. McMaster University, and Mohawk College in Hamilton, Brock University in St. Catharines, and Niagara College have also closed for the day.
