Halton Healthcare will see approximately 52 hospital beds. Milton MPP Parm Gill made the announcement together with other area MPP’s.
“I would like to take this opportunity to thank our frontline healthcare providers for their heroic work,” Gill said. Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital (OTMH) will get approximately 40, with Milton District Hospital getting approximately 12 beds.
“In addition to managing the impact of COVID-19 on our hospitals, we are also preparing for the annual flu season and anticipated winter surge. Capacity issues remain a challenge for hospitals across the province,” Halton Healthcare President and CEO Denise Hardenne said. Overall occupancy at hospitals is now at 94%. Occupancy is defined as anyone admitted to hospital.
