COVID-19 pop-up vaccination clinics will begin in Milton, and Oakville June 7, 2021. The initiative operated by the Province of Ontario will be offering first doses of the Pfizer vaccine to Halton Residents ages 12 and over.
“These clinics provide another great option for residents to get their first doses as quickly as possible,” Halton Region Chair Gary Carr said. Approximately 70% of residents over the age of 18 have received one dose.
The pop-up clinics will be run at a school in Oakville, and Milton:
- Craig Kielburger Secondary School, 1151 Ferguson Drive, Milton
- Wednesday, June 9: 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
- Thursday, June 10: 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
- Holy Trinity Catholic Secondary School, 2420 Sixth Line, Oakville
- Saturday, June 12: 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
- Sunday, June 13: 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
Eligible residents who have not yet had their first dose can book their appointments through the Region’s online booking system. There are 15 Milton area pharmacies offering the Pfizer or Moderna. Appointments can be made directly with the pharmacies. Locations are available through the province’s website. “Every resident who gets vaccinated brings us closer to achieving community protection against the COVID-19 virus. It’s time to roll-up our sleeves Halton! Chief Medical Officer of Health Dr. Hamidah Meghani said.
The province ended the stay-at-home Order June 2, 2021, however restrictions son what’s open/closed, and public gatherings remain until June 14, when Ontario is expecting to enter stage one of its reopening. Halton Region continues to advise residents to follow all public health guidelines including wearing a mask, physical distancing when they leave home, and not associating with those outside of their household. The region recorded an increase of 15 cases of COVID-19 today with 8 of them coming from Milton.
