The Town of Milton actively encourages its residents to play a pivotal role in revitalizing Main Street East as it embarks on a visionary journey to transform this vital corridor.
Main Street East in the Town of Milton is a vital link connecting the dynamic community and cultural arts district in the east to the historic downtown Milton in the west. It is envisioned as a future landmark street as a central focal point in our vibrant community.
A significant asset along Main Street East is the Milton GO Station, set to become a hub for transit-oriented design in the coming decades. In preparation for this transformation, the Town of Milton conducted a comprehensive Mobility Hub Study in 2020. This study provided key recommendations for the metamorphosis of the Milton GO Station district into ‘Uptown: The Hub of Possibility.’
In 2022, Milton’s Council took decisive action by carefully approving policies to manage Uptown’s growth. These policies encompass various facets, including the development of buildings, residences, businesses, roads, sidewalks, and public spaces. Specific details addressed within the policies include building heights, density, land use, parking, urban design, and open space.
Residents are encouraged to actively participate by taking a survey and sharing their valuable comments and innovative ideas on the Ideas Map or the Ideas Board.
