Milton Public Library expands reciprocal borrowing program to include Guelph Public Library

Milton Public Library (MPL) has announced expanding its reciprocal borrowing program to include Guelph Public Library. This new partnership allows library cardholders from both systems to borrow materials at any participating location without paying the non-resident fee.

“This initiative underscores our commitment to enhancing resource accessibility and supporting our community’s educational and recreational needs, especially as families continue to feel the pressures of today’s economy,” said Sarah Douglas-Murray, CEO & Chief Librarian at Milton Public Library.

With this expansion, MPL cardholders can access a broader range of materials and services at Guelph Public Library locations, including books, DVDs, electronic games, sports equipment, park passes, and more. MPL’s existing reciprocal borrowing agreements already include Halton Public Libraries (Halton Hills, Oakville, Burlington), Hamilton Public Library, and Wellington County Library.

Halton Hills, Oakville, Burlington, and Wellington County residents can obtain a free Milton Public Library card by presenting their home library card and proof of address at any MPL branch. This reciprocal system strengthens access to resources during challenging economic times, reinforcing MPL’s dedication to community support.
