Mapleview Shopping Centre is bringing festive cheer to families this holiday season with Holiday Magic, an immersive gingerbread city experience opening Dec. 6. The event features gingerbread house decorating, a hot chocolate bar, and holiday-themed photo opportunities, with all proceeds benefiting McMaster Children’s Hospital.

“Mapleview Shopping Centre is thrilled to welcome the community and families to explore the whimsical gingerbread-themed wonderland of Holiday Magic while celebrating the season’s spirit of giving back,” said Sydney Roberts, Marketing Manager at Mapleview Shopping Centre.

The shopping centre’s longstanding partnership with the hospital is nearing a $500,000 donation milestone.

“We’re incredibly proud to continue our partnership with McMaster Children’s Hospital as we approach a $500,000 donation milestone, thanks to the ongoing generosity of our community and shared commitment to making an impact,” Roberts added.

From Dec. 6 to Dec. 23, families can step into a gingerbread-inspired world where children can decorate and take home A-frame gingerbread houses, enjoy made-to-order hot chocolate with festive toppings, and snap photos against a bustling gingerbread city backdrop. Sessions last 30 minutes and cost $15 per child, with 100 percent of proceeds supporting McMaster Children’s Hospital. The activation will take place on the upper level near Sporting Life.

Mapleview Shopping Centre’s annual gift-wrapping service will also return this year, starting on Black Friday, Nov. 29. Proceeds from the service, located on the lower level by Guest Services, will also support McMaster Children’s Hospital.
