Milton celebrates Christian Heritage Month with special event

Milton celebrated Christian Heritage Month with a special event at Milton City Hall, East, honouring the contributions of the Christian community to the town’s cultural, historical and social fabric.

The event, which took place at Milton City Hall, East, brought together community leaders, residents, and faith groups in unity, pride, and reflection. It recognized the foundational role that Christian values have played in shaping Milton’s identity and community life.

Highlights of the event included Mayor Gord Krantz’s proclamation officially recognizing Christian Heritage Month in Milton. Jay Banerjei, co-founder of the Christian Heritage Month Initiative, delivered a welcome address on behalf of the organizing committee. Ramy Boutros shared community remarks, reflecting on the significance of Christian heritage and the community’s contributions.

Molly Banerjei, CEO of Christian Heritage Month, expressed gratitude to City Council members for their support and commitment during a heartfelt vote of thanks. Attendees also reflected and acknowledged the legacy and contributions of the Christian community in Milton.

This historic event underscored Milton’s commitment to diversity, inclusivity, and honouring the contributions of all its communities. It served as a reminder that faith, service, and community principles continue to inspire and strengthen the town.

“In Milton, we are proud to live in an inclusive and welcoming community that supports all cultures and religions. As we proclaim Christian Heritage Month at this important time of year, we are happy to recognize and celebrate the Christian values of love, service, and compassion,” said Molly Banerjei, CEO of Christian Heritage Month.

She further added, “With this proclamation, Milton has joined 40 other municipalities, two regions, and the province of Saskatchewan in recognizing the vital contributions of the Christian community to our nation,” Banerjei said.

“Now, Milton has become a truly inclusive city. This historic step affirms the values of faith, unity, and service that have shaped our communities and will continue to do so for generations to come.”

The event underscored Milton’s commitment to diversity and inclusivity, serving as a reminder of the principles of faith, service and community that inspire and strengthen the town.
