The Halton Police have launched a “most wanted” program to help locate and arrest the region’s most dangerous offenders. Additionally, the police are investigating recent crimes, including a stolen vehicle incident, an armed home invasion, and a robbery in Oakville. The public is urged to assist in identifying suspects.
POLICE LAUNCH ‘MOST WANTED’ PROGRAM
The Halton Police launched a new initiative, Halton’s Most Wanted, to help locate and arrest some of the region’s most dangerous offenders. Through this program, the police will feature high-priority cases via media releases, social media, and their website, expanding public outreach and generating investigative leads. The police are asking the public to be on the lookout for these individuals while stressing the importance of not approaching them. Information can be reported through HRPS or Crime Stoppers.
The program begins with two individuals currently wanted by the police. The first is Matthew Flannigan, a 33-year-old man with brown eyes, a scruffy beard, and long brown hair, possibly worn in braids. He also has skull tattoos on both forearms and the letters “ABG” on the side of his neck. Flannigan is wanted following a violent altercation with an HRPS officer on July 22, 2023, in Burlington. During a traffic stop, Flannigan was arrested under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act, but he resisted violently, breaking the officer’s leg. Flannigan fled at high speed, and he has been on the run since.
The second wanted individual is Raffaele-Giulio Draicchio, a 26-year-old man with brown eyes and brown hair. Draicchio was arrested on Feb. 19, 2024, in Oakville as part of an auto theft investigation, where he was found with two stolen Toyota 4Runners. He faces several charges, including possession of stolen property over $5000 (three counts), possession of break-in instruments, possession of an automobile master key, and possession of a device to obtain computer services. Draicchio was released on bail but failed to attend his court appearance in May 2024, leading to the issuance of a bench warrant for his arrest.
TWO HELD AFTER STOLEN VEHICLE COLLIDES WITH POLICE CARS
The police have laid multiple charges after two suspects were found in possession of a stolen vehicle. On Jan. 16, 2025, at approximately 10:40 p.m., officers located a stolen Toyota 4Runner on Parkdale Avenue North in Hamilton as part of an ongoing investigation.
When officers attempted to stop the vehicle, it fled the scene, colliding with two HRPS vehicles in the process. The stolen vehicle continued north on Main Street before losing control at Strathearne Avenue. The male driver and female passenger fled on foot but were apprehended a short distance away. The male was arrested first, and the female was taken into custody soon after, with assistance from the Hamilton Police Service.
The stolen vehicle had been reported missing from the Burlington area on Jan. 13, 2025. Fortunately, no physical injuries were reported during the incident.
As a result of the investigation, 41-year-old Steven Costello has been charged with offences. A 24-year-old woman, Natalie Campbell, has been arrested. Both suspects have been held in custody pending a bail hearing in Milton.
POLICE SEEK SUSPECTS IN ARMED HOME INVASION IN MILTON
The Halton police search for four suspects involved in an armed home invasion in Milton. The incident occurred in the area of Walnut Landing and Proud Drive, where three suspects forcibly entered a residence by breaking open the front door.
Once inside, the suspects confronted an adult male, holding him at gunpoint while they ransacked the home for valuables. Before fleeing the scene in a grey four-door hatchback, the suspects stole various items, including clothing and jewelry.
Fortunately, no physical injuries were reported. The three suspects observed during the invasion are described as males of average height and thin build, all wearing face coverings to conceal their identities. The police are urging anyone with information about the suspects or the vehicle to come forward.
POLICE SEEK PUBLIC’S HELP IN OAKVILLE ROBBERY
The Halton Police is asking the public for assistance in identifying a female suspect involved in a robbery at an Oakville grocery store. The incident occurred at approximately 5:50 p.m. at Fortinos, 493 Dundas Street West.
The suspect was observed concealing merchandise within the store. When a loss prevention officer attempted to arrest her, the suspect sprayed the officer with pepper spray before fleeing the scene. The officer reported minor physical injuries.
The female suspect is described as being in her late 30s, approximately 5’6″ tall, weighing around 130 lbs, with wavy black shoulder-length hair. She was wearing dark-coloured clothing at the time of the incident. Anyone with information regarding this suspect is urged to contact the Halton Police.
