Halton police have made multiple arrests in separate investigations involving auto theft, a violent home invasion, and a drug and firearm bust across the GTA. Meanwhile, officers are also investigating a fatal crash in Oakville that claimed the life of a Hamilton man.

TWO ARRESTED IN OAKVILLE AUTO-THEFT INVESTIGATION

The Halton Police have arrested two men in connection with an auto-theft investigation following a traffic stop in Oakville.

According to police, an officer stopped an Audi sedan near Neyagawa Boulevard and Gardenbrook Avenue. During the stop, the officer noticed suspicious items inside the vehicle, including balaclavas, gloves, and tools, prompting further surveillance. Investigators tracked the suspects as they drove the Audi into Mississauga. They stopped at a hotel and picked up a Toyota Tundra that had been previously reported stolen from Toronto. One of the suspects drove the stolen Tundra to a new location while the other followed in the Audi. Police officers arrested both men at the second location. Luca Lacroix, 21, of Saint-Hubert, Quebec, has been charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 and possession of break-and-enter instruments. Police say Lacroix is also wanted in Quebec for breaching release conditions. Teddy Sanon, 22, of Montreal, Quebec, faces the same charges. Both accused remain in custody pending a bail hearing.

FOUR ARRESTED AFTER ARMED HOME INVASION IN MILTON

Four men have been arrested and face multiple charges following an early morning home invasion in Milton. According to police, three suspects forced their way through the front door of a home near Clark Boulevard and Thompson Road South. Once inside, they went to the second level of the house, where they confronted a family of four, including a young boy. Two of the suspects brandished a large knife and a screwdriver, threatening the family while demanding cash, jewelry, and car keys.

The police officers responded quickly and found a Chevrolet Volt parked outside the residence. When police approached, the vehicle attempted to flee and struck a police cruiser. However, officers managed to immobilize the car and arrest the driver. Meanwhile, the three remaining suspects fled the scene on foot but were swiftly located and taken into custody.

Further investigation revealed that the Chevrolet Volt had been reported stolen from Durham Region earlier in February. Fortunately, none of the family members sustained physical injuries during the incident. Police have identified the accused as Shivam Miglani, 25; Gurpreet Singh, 28, of Brampton; and Jalen Harriott, 18, of Ajax. A 17-year-old male from Mississauga has also been charged. All four suspects remain in custody pending a bail hearing in Milton.

GUNS AND FIREARMS SEIZED; FIVE ARRESTED

A large drug and firearm seizure has led to multiple arrests as part of an extensive investigation by the police into a drug supply network operating in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). The investigation, known as Project Regal, began in Oakville and Brampton and has now concluded with five individuals facing more than 50 charges. Police say the operation targeted a network involved in the distribution of illegal drugs and firearms across the region.

Between February 8 and February 10, officers executed eight search warrants at residences in Oakville, Brampton, and Toronto. The raids led to the arrests of five suspects, who now face various criminal charges. The police have identified the accused as Tristan Bonnick, 33, of Brampton; Joseph Campbell, 31, of Oakville; Shaun Homem, 37, of Brampton; Brendon Rego, 30, of Brampton; and Damion Rego, 31, of Orangeville. All five remain in custody pending a bail hearing in Milton.

FATAL CRASH CLAIMS LIFE OF HAMILTON MAN

A 31-year-old man from Hamilton has died following a serious single-vehicle collision in Oakville. The crash occurred on Bristol Circle, south of Plymouth Drive. According to the initial investigation, a grey Porsche SUV travelled eastbound on Bristol Circle when it veered off the road and struck a light standard.

Emergency crews rushed the driver to a trauma centre, where he was pronounced dead. A 30-year-old passenger, also from Hamilton, sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The Halton Regional Police Service’s Collision Reconstruction Unit responded to the scene and has taken over the investigation.
