The Halton Hills Public Library is inviting residents to help support the youngest members of the community by participating in the Fill a Crib campaign.
The initiative, led by the Milton Community Resource Centre (MCRC), marks the first time the local library has officially partnered for the drive.
Until Jan. 15, 2026, people can drop off essential baby supplies and menstrual care products at both the Acton (17 River St.) and Georgetown (9 Church St.) branches.
Monetary donations can also be made online through the MCRC website.
This year’s campaign has set a goal to fill 120 cribs with supplies for the MCRC Infant Food Bank.
In terms of specific items, organizers are seeking the following:
Diapers: Specifically sizes 4, 5 and 6.
Nutrition: Baby food, cereal and infant formula.
Hygiene: Baby wipes and menstrual pads.
All items collected at the library branches will be distributed directly to households within Halton Hills facing financial or food insecurity.
While the Infant Food Bank has long served Milton, its reach into Halton Hills is relatively new.
The service first expanded to the Acton library in 2024 through a private donation and has since grown to include the Georgetown branch.
Both library branches host the Infant Food Bank facilitator on Tuesday mornings — alternating between the two branches — to meet with families, complete intake appointments and provide them with a supply of infant supplies once a month.
Following the conclusion of the Fill a Crib campaign, the library plans to launch additional food drives in early 2026 to benefit the Acton Food Share and the Georgetown Bread Basket.
