While the fields at Trafalgar Sports Park may be quiet for now, come spring, a new place will greet visitors and athletes.
A $1.3-million multi-purpose facility, which officially opened on Oct. 6, 2025, will support a wide range of community programming, tournaments, special events and recreational activities held in the park.
The Georgetown Slo-Pitch League also contributed to the completion of the facility with a $60,000 donation.
In a news release at the time, Mayor Ann Lawlor said “this beautiful and functional new amenity will support not only our local activities but ensure we are well positioned to be good hosts when attracting tournament play and other events to our community.”
Constructed with durable and sustainable materials, the architecture features striking glulam beams, sturdy concrete block walls and a sleek standing seam metal roof.
The Town of Halton Hills also prioritized “conservation-minded” features to reduce the building’s environmental footprint, including high-efficiency LED lighting, low-flow fixtures paired with motion sensors and strategically positioned windows to maximize natural light and promote passive airflow.
The interior is designed to be a versatile “home base” for a wide range of community programming.
Key features include a fully accessible, barrier-free universal washroom, a multi-purpose meeting room, a kitchenette and a partially covered concrete patio with picnic tables.
Users can look forward to utilizing the new space in late April, as the facility is designed for seasonal use, not year-round operation.
