Recreational facilities in Halton Hills will open this evening as cleanup from Sunday’s winter storm continues.
In a post on X, the town said Halton Hills received over 30 centimetres of snow on Sunday.
The town noted that in regards to its snow plow operations, parking lots were addressed in the morning, sidewalk plowing is underway and that snow removal in BIA and other areas will start in the evening and continue for several days.
Environment Canada reports a 40 per cent chance of flurries early this evening for Halton Hills.
They noted that additional flurries are predicted for Tuesday and Wednesday, however no significant snowfall is expected this week.
Recreation facilities
The Acton Indoor Pool will be opening at 5:30 p.m. and all programs will be running as regularly scheduled.
The Georgetown Indoor Pool will be opening at 6 p.m. with all programs scheduled to run.
The Gellert Community Centre had their early-morning swimming programs cancelled, and as of 10 a.m., all programs are running as scheduled.
Hillsview Active Living Centre
The Hillsview Active Living Centre in Acton is closed and all programs are cancelled. The Georgetown location is also closed for the day but will open for Zumba from 7 to 7:50 p.m.
The town also said that due to local schools being closed, all rentals for community use of schools are cancelled.
Libraries
The Acton branch is closed while the Georgetown branch is open with all programming running as scheduled.
ActiVan
ActiVan is operational but experiencing severe delays due to weather and road conditions.
Halton Region services
The Halton Waste Management Site is open and waste collection is occurring, though residents can expect delays due to weather and road conditions.
