Acton residents are invited to attend a community benefit event in support of animals.
The event, happening on Saturday, Jan. 24 at St. Alban’s Anglican Church (19 St. Alban’s Drive), will be supporting the Upper Credit Humane Society.
Running from 2 to 4 p.m., attendees can enjoy live music from Jane Hull and James Madio and coffee as well as churros, provided by The Mexican Way.
The musical performances will begin at 2:30 p.m., with a community welcome to follow at 3 p.m.
The community event was originally organized to support The Mexican Way (37 Mill St. E., Acton) after the restaurant was damaged.
On Jan. 7, the restaurant announced on their Facebook page that a car struck the front of their restaurant, forcing them to close for repairs.
On Jan. 9, they then made another post stating that they will be offering takeout service.
Then, in a Jan. 16 post, the restaurant shared an update that they were able to reopen sooner than expected due to repairs progressing faster than anticipated.
The restaurant also emphasized in the post that they “want to continue with the community benefit event at St. Alban’s.” Funds will now go to the humane society.
The Mexican Way has since been able to reopen for dine-in service.
