The Milton Reporter is seeking story ideas to feature in our newspaper and on our website from Milton and across the Halton region, with a particular focus on stories that highlight the voices and experiences of diverse communities.
We are especially interested in stories from groups that have historically been underrepresented in media — including Indigenous, Black, racialized, ethno‑religious minority communities, people with disabilities and 2SLGBTQI+ communities — to help ensure their perspectives are shared accurately and authentically.
We are also looking for freelance contributors from these communities who are interested in sharing stories, reporting on local issues, or offering lived‑experience perspectives that reflect the diversity of our region.
Our goal is to support initiatives that encourage greater participation of diverse communities and organizations in Canada’s cultural and media sectors, and to help amplify stories that reflect the full diversity of our region.
Story ideas and contributor inquiries can be sent to contact@miltonreporter.ca
