The Halton Catholic District School Board (HCDSB) has announced the recipients of its 2026 Student Awards of Excellence, recognizing outstanding students from across the district for their leadership, community involvement and commitment to Catholic values.
The awards were presented at the board’s 38th Annual Student Awards of Excellence Ceremony at Christ the King Catholic Secondary School in Georgetown. Father Wilson Andrade, Pastor of St. Raphael Parish, offered prayers and blessings to open the celebration. Musical performances were provided by the school’s Concert Band, directed by Sue File, and the Rock Band, directed by Mark Floyd.
Students were honoured in three categories: the Student Awards of Excellence, the Spirit of Inclusion Award and the Award of Excellence for Multilingual Learners.
The Student Awards of Excellence are presented annually to one student from each elementary and secondary school who demonstrates exceptional Catholic leadership, dedication to family, and active involvement in school and community life.
The Spirit of Inclusion Award, created by the Special Education Advisory Committee, recognizes students who help create welcoming school environments by ensuring their peers feel valued, respected and included.
The Award of Excellence for Multilingual Learners is presented to two newcomer students—one from an elementary school and one from a secondary school—who have shown perseverance and commitment while adapting to a new environment and learning a new language.
HCDSB extended congratulations to all recipients, noting that their contributions enrich school communities and reflect the values at the heart of Catholic education.
