Applications are now open for the 2027 Milton Community Fund, which provides financial support to local not‑for‑profit organizations delivering programs, services and events that contribute to the quality of life in the community.
e Town of Milton says approximately $425,000 in funding is available for artistic, cultural and recreational initiatives taking place in 2027. Applications will be accepted until July 27, 2026, with funding decisions made by a volunteer citizen committee and announced by January 2027.
The Milton Community Fund, established by Milton Council in 2001, recently marked 25 years of community impact, having distributed more than $8.4 million to not‑for‑profit groups that provide artistic, cultural and recreational opportunities for residents. In 2025, the program awarded $536,668 to 52 community organizations, selected from 61 applications, including 10 first‑time applicants — a reflection of the strong and ongoing demand for local funding. Municipal officials say the fund continues to play a vital role in helping organizations deliver programs that make Milton “a place of possibility.”
The fund is supported through proceeds from the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation generated by hosting Elements Casino Mohawk. Grants are intended to enhance community well‑being, strengthen local programming and support organizations that contribute to Milton’s cultural and recreational landscape.
“The Milton Community Fund is an important grant program that brings people together and strengthens our community,” said Steve Palmer, the Town’s Director of Recreation and Culture. “By supporting local organizations, the fund helps build lasting connections and contributes to making Milton a welcoming and inclusive place for everyone.”
Application guidelines and submission forms are available on the Town of Milton website. Residents may also call 905‑878‑7252 ext. 2539 for assistance. Groups unable to accept OLG‑sourced funding can contact Town staff to discuss alternative funding options.
