On February 6, Miltonians gathered to watch a kids’ talent show at the Milton Seniors’ Centre. The event also served as a charity fundraiser organized by the Indo Canadian Club and Kids’ MegaFest organizers for Arianna Koeinger. Organizers “Through the event, we managed to raise $1600. The cheque was handed over to Arianna’s family at the event,” said Vandana Raj Bhatt, Director, at Kids Mega Fest.
Councillors Mike Cluett and Rick Di Lorenzo were treated to incredible performances. The show kicked off with Rick Imus studio’s Kids band performance, and other musical numbers. Kicks for Kids showcased a Martial Arts performance, while Devan Wheeler performed Magic show for the audience. The highlight of the show was Kids Fashion show. Small kids walked the runway in summer, and winter fashions. All participating kids were given trophies and certificates as appreciation of their performance at the event.
Arianna was diagnosed with Leukemia in October, 2015 and has started chemotherapy treatments. The family along with Arianna attended the event and thanked the community and the organizers for the support they have been receiving so far. She’s being treated at the McMaster Children’s Hospital in Hamilton Ontario where she also gives toys to other children having treatment. CBC recently featured the family in a piece on her efforts which, started a groups called “Ari’s Angels.”
