The Town of Milton is changing its spring maintenance program to align with the Province’s emergency orders resulting from the COVID19 outbreak.
As the warm weather arrives, residents can expect to see Town staff providing the following maintenance services in the community:
- Winter street sweeping program
- Grass cutting – limited trimming
- Park and roadside litter and debris clean up
- Emptying of parks garbage cans
- Maintenance requirements related to roads
- Emergency forestry work
Spring tree planting has been rescheduled to the fall. Planting of annual flower beds will not occur and each of the beds will be mulched to suppress weeds. “I encourage residents to help out where possible especially in the area of litter pick up, as the normal spring neighbourhood programs are cancelled due to COVID-19, Community Services Commissioner Kirstene Scott said. All parks, and outdoor areas including sports fields, and park gazebos remain closed under provincial emergency orders.
