Milton Extends COVID19 Closures until July 5

The Town of Milton is extending its facility closures until July 5, 2020.  The date was selected for the purpose of planning the recovery phase.

“Public safety continues to be the priority with the evolving COVID-19 situation, so we are extending the closure of all facilities to protect our community,” Mayor Gord Krantz said. This means the postponement of all recreation programs, permits, rentals, theatre performances, and special events.

The Town says they are conscious of the fact that programming will not return to 100% when activities resume.  It follows the release of the provincial plan for a phased-in reopening of Ontario’s economy.

The extension will cancel the first week of summer camps.  Further decisions on subsequent cancellations will be made June 1.  The Town will be issuing refunds within the next month for affected programs, rentals or performances.  For more information on the Town of Milton’s response to COVID19 visit their website.
