Milton Council Sets Boundaries for 2018 election

In the final phase of the Council Composition and Ward Boundary Review process, Milton Council approved the ward boundaries that will be used starting in the 2018 municipal election. The 4 wards are divided at the intersection of Ontario Street (RR 25) and Derry Road, and are depicted on the map (attached).

Beginning in 2018, Milton Council will be comprised of 9 members of council from 4 wards. The 9 members of council include the Mayor, 4 Local Councillors, and 4 Local & Regional Councillors.

The Council Composition and Ward Boundary Review process results from a resolution adopted by Halton Regional Council in November 2015, requesting the addition of two Regional Councillors from Milton and one from Oakville to bring about more proportionate representation on Regional Council among the four lower-tier municipalities (Burlington, Milton, Oakville and Halton Hills).
