Milton to host free screening for Canada’s 150th Anniversary

The Milton Film Festival, in association with the TIFF Film Circuit, will be participating in a unique celebration of Canada’s 150th anniversary by hosting a FREE screening of a great Canadian film classic.

The screening will be held in the Mattamy Theatre at the Milton Centre for the Arts on April 19th, 2017 – a day which has been designated as REEL Canada’s National Canadian Film Day as part of TIFF’s year-long Canada On Screen program.

The Milton Film Festival is inviting its audience members and all Miltonians to help select the film to be screened by voting for one of these eleven specially selected Canadian films:

  • ATANARJUAT: THE FAST RUNNER (2001), director Zacharias Kunuk
  • THE BITTER ASH (1963), director Larry Kent
  • LIFE CLASSES (1988), director William D. MacGillivray
  • MANUFACTURED LANDSCAPES (2006), director Jennifer Baichwal
  • MOMMY (2014), director Xavier Dolan
  • MY AMERICAN COUSIN (1985), director Sandy Wilson
  • MY WINNIPEG (2007), director Guy Maddin
  • STORIES WE TELL (2012), director Sarah Polley
  • THE SWEET HEREAFTER (1997), director Atom Egoyan
  • THIRTY TWO SHORT FILMS ABOUT GLENN GOULD (1993), director François Girard
  • WATER (2005), director Deepa Mehta
