Halton Region is under a cold warning beginning today. Such alerts are issued when temperatures reach a low of -15 degrees Celsius before wind-chill.
Environment Canada issues an extreme cold warning for outdoor activity when the temperature reaches -30 degrees Celsius for a period of 2 hours.
The warning is in effect until daytime temperatures improve, and reduce the risks of long-term exposure. The Town of Milton encourages residents to check vulnerable friends, family and neighbours.
