Halton Regional Police confirm that one man is dead and another in critical condition as a result of a shooting at a Chiropractic clinic on Plains Road in Burlington on March 16th, 2017.
Dr. Ferdinand “Fred” Mejilla (Pronounced “Ma-Hail-Ya”), 50 years, died in hospital from gunshot wounds. He was the owner and operator of the clinic located at 195 Plains Road East, Burlington. Dr.Mejilla leaves behind five children and several patients. His family requests that their privacy be respected during this difficult time.
The suspect, David Williamson, 44 years of Burlington remains in critical condition in hospital with what is believed to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Williamson was a one-time patient of Dr. Mejilla. Homicide investigators are continuing the investigation.
