Town of Milton facilities will remain closed until May 29th. The decision made to help slow the spread of COVID-19, and flatten the curve. All outdoor parks, and recreation spaces are also closed under emergency orders issued by the province of Ontario.
“Public safety is paramount and with the evolving situation, we are playing it safe and extending the closure of all facilities to protect our community,” Mayor Gord Krantz said. The Town of Milton will issue refunds within two-four weeks for recreation and culture programs affected by the closure.
The additional closures are expected to help with physical distancing. “Practice physical distancing, stay home as much as possible and keep a safe distance of two metres from others. We’ll get through this together, Milton.” Krantz said. The closures were made after consultation with Halton Region Public Health. All resources are being directed to the greatest need. The majority of staff continue working remotely to deliver services. All part-time, seasonal, and casual staff are on temporary break effective April 6, 2020
