Milton Fire Chief to Step Down

After nine years as Fire Chief, Brian Ellsworth is stepping down from his current post to pursue an opportunity with the Richmond Hill Fire Department.

Over the past nine years, Brian has led Milton’s Fire Department through an important period of infrastructure growth in the community. Under his leadership, the Fire Department has provided progressive, professional fire prevention, suppression and emergency response services to the community as well as enhancing Milton’s emergency preparedness activities.

“I am honoured and grateful for the time I’ve spent with the dedicated professionals at the Milton Fire Department,” said Brian Ellsworth. “I am certainly proudest of being part of an organization that has a lasting legacy of serving to save since 1857.”

Dave Pratt will act as interim Fire Chief until a new Fire Chief is selected.

Recruitment for a permanent Fire Chief will begin in early 2017. Details will be posted when available on the Town of Milton’s website.
