Milton Historical Society has suspended all of its community programming until May 1, 2020, at the earliest as part of Canada’s efforts to halt the spread of the COVED-19 virus across the country.
MHS Board of Directors will continue to monitor Canada’s progress daily in fighting the coronavirus and revise its 2020 calendar of events, as required. All updates will be posted to its website at www.miltonhistoricalsociety.ca
The Waldie Blacksmith Shop will be closed to the public until May 1, 2020, at this writing. However, individual blacksmith training and individual historical research work will continue on Wednesdays and Saturdays. The Shop is fully stocked with those items required to ensure those members of the public who have business there are safe, including hand sanitizer, tissues and soap and hot water for hand-washing.
“While Milton Historical Society plays an important role in the community when it comes to local history, as a destination we also have a role to play when it comes to public safety,” said John Challinor II, President, Milton Historical Society. “Our Board of Directors will be monitoring this matter daily and will revise the Society’s community programming schedule accordingly as more is known about this matter.”
