Milton Transit Fares Change January 2

After two years of holding fees steady, Milton Transit is increasing fares in 2018 to help balance the cost of operations and continued service improvements.

Transit cash fares, tickets and day pass/monthly pass prices will increase effective January 2, 2018; fare increases will apply to both conventional and paratransit services. Milton Transit fares are assessed as part of the annual user fee review process to determine if an increase is warranted.

Continued loyalty discounts on monthly passes provide affordable options for frequent system users. January monthly passes are available for purchase starting December 20 at the new pass prices at all ticket agents.  Funding assistance is also available through Halton Region for Subsidized Passes for Low-Income Transit (SPLIT). This program provides monthly transit passes at a reduced rate for Milton residents who meet the low-income threshold. Individuals receiving assistance from Ontario Works or the Ontario Disability Support Program as well as government and privately sponsored refugees may also be eligible. For more information about SPLIT, contact Halton Region by dialling 311 or visiting www.halton.ca/split.

In 2017, Milton Transit introduced  a number of service enhancements, including additional GO Train connections, later weekday evening service and extension of service to new growth areas in Boyne Neighbourhood and the 401 industrial area. In 2018, transit service will continue to extend into the Boyne Neighbourhood, starting in September.
