Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne and Prince Edward Island (P.E.I.) Premier Wade MacLacuhlan met with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi for 30 minutes February 3, 2016.  The pair are leading a 10-day trade mission to  India.

Wynne released a statement on the meeting marking the country as a key market for Ontario.  “India is the world’s third-largest economy, and a priority market for Ontario.  My mission will help generate new business, political, and cultural connections that will lead to future partnerships that benefit both regions,” she said.  $98 million worth of agreement were signed on the first day of the trade mission.

This is Wynne’s second meeting with Modi in less than year.  The first was when he visited Toronto in April, 2015.
