Milton District Hospital Auxiliary Donates $150,000

The Milton District Hospital Auxiliary (MDHA) presented Milton District Hospital with a cheque for $150,000 at their 2019 Annual General Meeting held on May 15th.

The Annual General Meeting celebrated the accomplishments, commitment and support of the MDHA’s volunteers over the past year, as well as honoured some individual volunteers for their continued service.

“The Milton District Hospital Auxiliary raises funds through revenue generated from the gift shop, vendor sales, 50/50 draws, HELPP lottery sales and community donations,” said Bonna Richmond, MDH Auxiliary President. “Of course we also have our annual fundraising events including the strawberry fair, Christmas gift wrapping, rummage sale, plant sale, and Christmas luncheon. A big thank you to our sponsors, our supporters and our community for all they do in support of our hospital,” she added.

“We are very fortunate to have such committed volunteers,” said Janet Skupsky, Chief Operating Officer, Milton District Hospital. “This year marks the 60th anniversary of our hospital’s Auxiliary and their long history of giving and caring in support of our patients, their families, physicians and staff. Delivering exemplary patient experiences is rewarding work that takes commitment, teamwork and compassion, all attributes that are demonstrated by our volunteers every day.”

Halton Healthcare’s hospitals accept applications for new volunteers twice a year. Adults and youth looking to volunteer will be able to submit an application online or in person from July 1-August 12, 2019.
