Police Make Arrest in Violent Milton Robbery

A Hamilton man has been charged for his involvement in July drug transaction that resulted in a man having his throat cut.

On July 6th, 2016 a male victim was robbed in the area of Sydney Drive and Commercial Street, in the Town of Milton.  The male victim was stabbed in the throat with a knife during the robbery. The victim was quickly transported to hospital and narrowly escaped sustaining life threatening injuries. He was treated and later released.

After a lengthy investigation, Robbery Detectives were able to identify the person responsible. On December 27th, 2016 Detectives arrested the male without incident. Several search warrants were executed as a result of this investigation.

Charged with Robbery, Aggravated Assault and Weapons Dangerous is 21 year old Zachary CARTER of Hamilton. CARTER was released on a promise to appear and an undertaking.

Update-December 30, 2016:

Halton Regional Police report an additional charge has been added.  Zachary Carter faces a charge of possession of a controlled substance for the purposes of trafficking.  “This investigation, in its totality, is an excellent example of thorough police work.” Detective Sergeant Dave Costantini of the Criminal Investigations Bureau stated.  The charge followed after a search of the accused’s car by Police Forensic Identification Officers resulted in a finding of 1.5 pounds of marihuana.  The drugs were worth an estimated $3,000.
