March 8, 2019 marked International Women’s Day.  The Canadian Federation of University Women (CFUW) marked the occasion with a march.  It was started off with speeches from Milton Mayor Gord Krantz, and Milton MP Lisa Raitt.  “There’s one single word we all need to keep in the back of our heads, and that word is resilience,” Raitt told the crowd.

Also in attendance were students from Milton District High School (MDHS), and Bishop Reding High school.  Each group were given some time to speak.

Students from MDHS used their time to pay tribute to one of their teachers.

The march’s route was along Main St to Carriage Square, and returned to Town Hall along the north side of Main St.  This year’s theme was Balance for Better.
