Halton Police Constable Charged After Firearm Discharge Incident

Halton Police Constable Jordan Lee, a member of the force for six years, faces charges of careless use of a firearm following an internal investigation.

The incident, which occurred in the City of Burlington, involved the accidental discharge of a police-issued firearm while Constable Lee was performing his duties. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.

According to Service policy, all events involving the discharge of a firearm by a service member, whether intentional or unintentional, undergo investigation by members of Regional Investigative Services. In compliance with this protocol, an internal investigation was conducted.

As a result of the investigation, Constable Lee has been suspended with pay under the provisions of the Police Services Act of Ontario. He is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice – Milton on Wednesday, April 3, 2024, to face the charge.

The Halton Police Service assures the public that incidents of this nature are taken seriously and established protocols and legal procedures are taking appropriate actions.
